In a new interview, Gal Gadot once again makes it clear that DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have assured her that they want to develop another Wonder Woman movie with her…
Gal Gadot recently surprised us all by revealing that, as far as she knew, James Gunn and Peter Safran were planning to develop a third Wonder Woman movie, with her back in the lead role as the iconic Amazon warrior.
Since the new DCU is (or was supposedly) being developed as a full reboot, it was generally assumed that Gadot, along with Henry Cavill and the rest of the original “SnyderVerse” cast, would be replaced as their respective characters going forward.
Now, it’s looking increasingly likely that Gunn intends to pick and choose which actors/characters he wants to keep on board.
During a new interview with USA Today (conducted prior to the strikes), Gadot was asked about her status as Diana after making appearances in both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, and she reiterated that Gunn and Safran are developing another film, having assured her that she’s “in the best hands” when it comes to her future in the role.
“I had a meeting with (DC Studios CEOs) Peter Safran and James Gunn, and they both told me that they’re going to develop a third Wonder Woman with me. They said, ‘You’re in the best hands, you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ Time will tell.”

A recent rumor indicated that, while Gadot will indeed be back as Diana, this movie isn’t going to be Wonder Woman 3, and will actually serve as a semi-reboot.
Why bring Gadot back to play a different version of the same character? Gunn has been uncharacteristically quiet since Gal’s initial comments, so we’ll just have to wait and see what he has in store.
